National Seal Sanctuary
Witness animal welfare work at its finest in Europe's busiest seal rescue centre. The Sanctuary extends a vital lifeline every winter to dozens of abandoned, stranded and injured grey seal pups.
You will also encounter resident adult seals and sea lions, and even playful otters. Daily talks and feeding presentations ensure a memorable day out for all the family. Californian sea lion Rocky is a firm favourite and nearby you will also find Patagonian sea lion Boadicea. Meal times are without doubt the sea lions' favourite events, and also the best times to find out more about these gentle giants.
The whole Seal Rescue operation is under a fresh spotlight this year, with new developments that give a deeper insight into the whole process?from rescue and recovery through to release.
Don't miss the underwater observatory where you can watch seals beneath the waves, where they are at their most graceful.
Dog Friendly Well behaved dogs, on a lead, are always welcome at the Sanctuary.
